The Newfoundland Distillery Company presents Shannon Webb-Campbell

  • The Newfoundland Distillery Company 14 Conception Bay Highway Bay Roberts, NL, A0A 1G0 Canada (map)

Join Ice Tha One & Shannon Webb-Campbell for a double performance live at the distillery on Wednesday night.

Shannon Webb-Campbell will perform a poetry reading from Her latest collection, Lunar Tides.

"Expansive and enveloping, Webb-Campbell’s collection asks, “Who am I in relation to the moon?” These poems explore the primordial connections between love, grief, and water, structured within the lunar calendar.

The poetics follow rhythms of the body, the tides, the moon, and long, deep familial relationships that are both personal and ancestral. Originating from Webb-Campbell’s deep grief of losing her mother, Lunar Tides charts the arc to finding her again in the waves. Written from a mixed Mi’kmaq/settler perspective, this work also explores the legacies of colonialism, kinship and Indigenous resurgence.

Lunar Tides is the ocean floor and a moonlit night: full of possibility and fundamental connections."

Ice Tha One will perform a set to celebrate the release of her new Hip-Hop album, MONSTAR.

"Toronto-based vocalist/emcee/songwriter ‘Ice Tha One’ goes all in. With roots based in r&b, soul and hip-hop Ice delivers raw lyricism with a smooth melody. Always repping the east side of her city Ice continues to create innovative music that keeps listeners wanting more. ‘In The Paint’ was a dynamic record that showcased her ‘no holds barred’ demeanor which continues to draw audiences to live performances while Ice’s magnetic and unapologetic energy fuels the crowd.

Her latest full album ‘MONSTAR’ is an electrifying collaboration with renowned producer HeyBombay, laced with luscious horn arrangements from Octavio N. Santos and Anthony Rinaldi. Ice also recently collaborated on Junia-T’s ‘Studio Monk Deluxe’ LP on a track entitled ‘EstSde’ which is making traction internationally, including an album nomination for The Polaris Music Prize."
