Strange Futures Book Club: Manhunt

  • 176 Rue Bernard Ouest Montréal, QC, H2T 2K2 Canada (map)

We will be meeting in person at La Petite Librairie Drawn & Quarterly, located at 176 rue Bernard O at 7 pm on Tuesday October 11th. Join us for the discussion!

**PLEASE NOTE** The attendance for this meeting will be limited to 10 book club guests and will be based on a first come, first served basis. All those present will be required to wear a mask for the duration of the meeting.

The Strange Futures book club focuses on sci-fi and speculative fiction by QT/BIPOC writers. "Strange Futures" speaks to the unknown worlds that are to come--but also to the strangeness that is ascribed to marginalized voices, and how such strangeness can actually be generative, challenging, discomforting, and revolutionary. Hosted by H Felix Chau Bradley, the book club meetings are free and open to the public.

MANHUNT: Beth and Fran spend their days traveling the ravaged New England coast, hunting feral men and harvesting their organs in a gruesome effort to ensure they'll never face the same fate.

Robbie lives by his gun and one hard-learned motto: other people aren't safe.

After a brutal accident entwines the three of them, this found family of survivors must navigate murderous TERFs, a sociopathic billionaire bunker brat, and awkward relationship dynamics—all while outrunning packs of feral men, and their own demons.

Librairie Drawn & Quarterly recognizes that our bookstores are located on the unceded territory of the Kanien’kehá:ka. Many of us refer to Montreal as our home, but it is named Tiohtiá:ke. This has always been a gathering place for many First Nations and continues to be home to a diverse population of Indigenous peoples. It is important to think about how each and every one of us has arrived here. We are grateful that creating and sharing stories has been a part of this land for thousands of years and we urge you to seek out a story that is different from your own.
