Flying Books: ANNE K. YODER AND BABAK LAKHGOMI IN CONVERSATION

  • Flying Books 784 College St.TorontoCanada (map)

Join us for a conversation with Anne K. Yoder, author of The Millions “most anticipated” debut novel, The Enhancers, and Babak Lakhgomi, author of Floating Notes, on November 15 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Flying Books, 784 College St. (near Shaw), Toronto.

In the wake of Roe v. Wade, in an era of medication before care from the inside out, in the time of the online doom scroll, The Enhancers is the internet girl’s answer to wellness and rewilding: seeking the return to a cleaner system, and a natural life. Told through a chorus of voices in a system not far from our reality, The Enhancers asks questions of mandated pharmaceuticals, access to care, consent, and capitalism.

Anne K. Yoder’s fiction, essays, and criticism have appeared in Fence, BOMB, Tin House, NY Tyrant, and MAKE, among other publications. She writes, lives, and occasionally dispenses pharmaceuticals in Chicago.

Babak Lakghomi is the author of South (forthcoming from Dundurn Press, 2023) and Floating Notes (Tyrant Books, 2018). His fiction has appeared in American Short Fiction, NOON, Ninth Letter, New York Tyrant, The Adroit Journal, and Green Mountains Review, and has been translated into Italian and Farsi. Babak was born in Tehran, Iran, and currently lives and writes in Toronto.
