Join us as we celebrate the launch of Midwood, by Jana Prikryl, Tuesday, Aug 9, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Flying Books, 784 College St. (near Shaw), Toronto.
Midwood is a restless and intimate volume from a poet James Wood has called “one of the most original voices of her generation.”
Poet, writer, and teacher Adam Sol, author of How a Poem Moves, Broken Dawn Blessings, Crowd of Sounds, among other acclaimed books, will discuss Midwood with Jana.
Jana Prikryl was born in the Czech Republic and moved to Canada at the age of six. She is the author of three books of poems, Midwood, The After Party, and No Matter. The recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Radcliffe Fellowship, and an award in literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, Prikryl lives in Brooklyn and is an editor at The New York Review of Books.
Books will be available for purchase, and, of course, the authors will be signing!
Admission is free. Masks are recommended but not required.
