Announcing Prathna Lor as our Poetry Editor

Shrapnel enthusiastically welcomes Prathna Lor to our editorial team as Poetry Editor! They will be spearheading the poetry section of the magazine and managing all submissions.

Prathna is a poet and essayist currently living in Tiohtià:ke (Montréal), as well as a scholar who teaches and writes on race, sex, ethics, and poetics.

Their most recent publications include 7, 2 (2019) from Knife Fork Book and Ventriloquism (2010) from Future Tense Books.

Prathna's poetry and writing have also appeared or is forthcoming in TSQ: Transgender Studies Quarterly, Canadian Literature, the minnesota review, Jacket2, C Magazine, DIAGRAM, Black Warrior Review, Poetry is Dead, Hobart, Vinyl, Haunt: A Journal of Art, Plenitude Magazine, Echolocation, and elsewhere. 

As a doctoral candidate in the Department of English at the University of Toronto and a 2019 graduate fellow at the Centre for Diaspora and Transnational Studies, they are currently completing a dissertation on "unthinkable subjects," which was awarded the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
